- Skates are on.
- You are sitting in a chair.
- The second chair is on firm smooth surface in front of you.
- While holding the second chair your feet are one in front and the other is behind, like a human bicycle , stand up very slowly keeping your center between your feet.
- When up just be still and feel what it is like to be a human bicycle.
- Slowly bring the rear foot forward half way towards the front foot and then let it go back to its previous rear position, do this slowly several times.
- Slowly sit down and reverse feet positions and repeat 2 thru 6.

skates and poles you will need

- You will need to modify a pair of inline skates. Cut off the extra wheels. Make sure that the remaining wheel is under the ball of the foot i.e. 1/3 from the toe 2/3 from the heel.Save extra wheels and bearings for spares later.
- Poles that are as high as your belt. Adjustable hiking poles are a good choice.
- Heel brake you will need later.
- A chair with a back that is as high as your belt.
